I'm due to start Sulphasalazine.....to add to the Mtx injections and Plaquenil. I know we're all different but I'd like to hear of others' experiences with this drug, good or bad. xx

It's a very good treatment. Old but none the worse for it as it has a good track record. If you're unfortunate enough to suffer from an IBD such as colitis it's also effective on that so you can reduce your drug load.

That was the first drug they tried me on.I had no side effects apart from the one that Jane has mentioned. I was on it for 12 weeks, but it had no effect on my RA, which was very aggressive, so I was taken off it.

Ah yes - the yellow wee - I forgot about that!

It was my first drug too. Unfortunately I had one of the rarer side effects - wheezy chest. But then, I am slightly asthmatic. Don't let that put you off. It's a good drug and if it works for you that would be great as it's one of the ones with least side effects.

Not very good at this but it is any help I've been taking it for about 20+ years except for a short brake with methatrexate which was a total disaster, any side effects are well known and it seems to work If it works for you stick with it good luck
